How-to: bronzed eye make up for tanned skin

Hello sweetpeas! So this is going to be my first how-to piece ever, which I am very excited about and hope to be bringing you more in the future :) I was inspired to do a how-to for a number of reasons: Firstly, I got the PHENOMENAL Naked 1 set by Urban Decay for my birthday in August, and I have been playing around with the shades.

Secondly, I went to my cousins 21st at the weekend and my auntie, who also has the eyeshadow set said she struggled to find ways of using the colours together, so I thought I would lend a helping hand out to those of you who need a little inspiration :) Lastly, I have just got back from Dorset & Cornwall, and luckily for me I am quite tanned! This is great for my complexion, but I have always struggled to adapt my eyeshadow to my bronzed skin. But through experimenting with the brilliant Naked 1 tones I have developed a smokey, golden-brown look that I think looks great on tanned skin. So here goes, and I apologise in advance for the unflattering pictures of myself!

To start with you will need a set of golden-brown eye shadows; they do not have to be Urban Decay, although I would highly recommend that you invest in the set! You will also need eye make up primer, mascara and a set of eye brushes (Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman are a must have).

So first you should apply the eye make up primer all over your eyelids and rub in, as I am doing in the picture above. If you do not have any primer you could substitute it with a eye cream as that will help the eye shadow to 'stick'.

Wet a liner brush and apply a shimmery, dark-brown shade to the brush.

Take this colour and apply it like eye liner just above your lash line, like so.

Using a flat eyeshadow brush, apply a golden shade.

Cover your eyelids in this colour, blending it in with the brown line you have already applied.

And also add this shade just below your lower lash line.

Apply a dark beige shadow to an eyeshadow blending brush.

Blend this shade into the crease of your eye lid (it helps to keep your eyes open so you can get a defined line).

Take a contouring eye shadow brush and apply to it a frosty pink colour.

Smooth this along your brow-bone to act as a highlight.

Also blend this colour onto the ball of your eye and underneath your eye to give yourself a fresh, dewy look.

Then apply mascara to your top and lower lashes. I like to use Loreal Double Extension as it comes with a conditioning serum that really helps to lengthen my lashes!

And here is the end result :) I hope you enjoyed my how-to and found it useful! If anybody tries this look please send me pictures on twitter as I'd love to share them on my next blog. My username is Faire_Soleil

Bright white beaches & fudge ice cream

Hello beauties! Sorry that I have not uploaded onto this blog for quite a while, but I have been concentrating on other things of late. However, I am wanting to find more time to revamp this blog and bring you all some more outfit ideas :)

It has been a unbelievable summer for me; I have had so much fun and spent time with some AMAZING people! I am sad that it is almost over but I'm looking forward to going back to uni and spending time with my faves. Luckily I am about to end the summer on a high as next week I am going to Mallorca with my best friend which is going to be fab. Speaking of holidays, I have just go back from two weeks enjoying the tranquil scenery of the Dorset and Cornish coast. This got me thinking about holiday outfits. When I go on holiday I like to choose clothes that I can maximize upon the most. This means wearing pieces that will go well with a variety of items and can transfer from day to night. Check out some of my ideas (which also include two orange dresses that were featured on my other blog).

So if any of you have a last minute holiday planned, using outfits such as these that can take through the day and night are perfect. If anybody would like to know where any of the items are from please leave your questions in the comments bar :)

From in my old blue dungarees

Say a huge "welcome back" to the dungaree! Since designers such as Stella McCartney and Henry Holland sent dungarees down their Spring/Summer 2013 catwalks they have been selling in extraordinary numbers. The revival of this trend breathes an essence of rockability from the late 70s and early 80s, and I'm sure anyone who can remember those decades thought Ronnie Wood and Roger Daltrey looked hip in their faded denim.

Asos have claimed that dungarees are selling a storm. "All dungarees are performing well at Asos this season. From soft, tailored, jersey styles through to casual denims, we can't get enough of them," said Rachel Morgan, Asos womenswear's head of buying. Coincidently, the dungarees I am wearing in these pictures are available on Asos Marketplace by Captainslocker!!

Alexa Chung looks fab in her dungarees, paired with chunky heels and a delicate blouse to give it sweet femininity.

I love how Selena Gomez has accessorized her dungaree with an oversized knitted scarf, which would be great on milder days!

Jameela Jamil shows that this trend can also be cute for nights out if paired with a smart blazer and sophicticated heels.

If you like the dungarees I am wearing in the pics then check out the Captainslocker website because they will be up for sale soon (:

You fit me better than my favourite sweater..

I love, love, love this outfit that I modeled for Captainslocker last weekend! This jumper is so soft and cosy, I would literally wear this all the time if I hadn't had to give it back today ): I think this outfit is cute now that we are finally getting some spring weather, as you can keep warm but don't look like you're braving arctic conditions!

I got the pork-pie hat from Topshop last week after much contemplation.. It was £25.. which I know is a lot for a hat but it looks very high quality and I am sure I will wear it on bad hair days aha!

Speaking of hair, I've gone a little darker! Let me know what you think (:

Won't you come see about me?

The 90's is EVERYWHERE at the moment! And particularly in fashion; with the return of this decade we have seen the comeback of velvet, neons, aztec patterns and the crop top! Crop tops are a major trend for spring 2013 and they have been spotted on the runway and the red carpet (see pictures below). However, some of you may feel a bit anxious about bearing so much skin. It is a common misconception that only slender figures can pull off the crop top! They can look great on a variety of figures. As I am quite tall, I can get away with the shorts and crop top combo, but if you have a more hour-glass or even pear-shaped figure, a skater skirt or an A-line skirt looks amazing with a crop top, and it can bring your waist right in, making you look slimmer!

Aztec patterns and crop tops were combined on the runway at Mara Hoffman fashion show for a true 90's vibe.

One of the things I love most about the crop top trend is that there is so much variety; you can find crop tops that are very pretty and feminine and others that are cool and casual. So there is a crop top for everyone really, not matter what your style preferences! Vanessa Hudgens looks so beautiful and delicate in her girlish take on the crop top in this ensemble she is wearing by Katharine Kidd. This approach to wearing the crop top will look cute on those with hour-glass or pear-shaped figures.

Kristen Stewart screams successful power woman in her version of the crop top trend which was designed by Balenciaga.

Queen of cool, Rihanna rocks a simple crop top from her own collection at River Island.
