I look for you in the morning..

Bonjour! It feels like ages since I've updated my blog (depressingly). I can't believe how little free time I have had in the last month. For starters, I was on school placement for most of November, which was, although amazing and rewarding, completely knackering.

Last Thursday I finished uni for Christmas, so you would think I have tons of free time. Not the case! I have so much uni work to do, plus my parents want me to find a job, and expect me to cook some of the Christmas food at the same time. Then there's catching up with all my friends from home who will be back from uni too!! There's so much to do and I don't know how I'm going to fit it all in!!! So Santa, for Christmas, could you give me super powers? It would come in quite handy haha!

Anyway, I'm getting some lovely items for Christmas which I can't wait to share with you!! I'm trying to branch out a little bit with my style so I've chosen some clothes that I usually wouldn't wear, including a bodycon dress similar to this one worn by Kate Winslet

This dress is very sexy and the curves of the black and white have a sliming effect; perfect for the coming party season when you may have consumed one too many mince pies!

Going back to my free time, I'm hoping I will be able to pay more attention to this blog because I really enjoy working on it; it doesn't feel like a chore like most things haha! So yesterday I did find time to do a few pictures. I was going for an 'Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's' look.

She's just like paperwork, but harder to read..

Bonjour!!! It's been a long week and I've just got back from a lovely roast dinner at my parents house. I was working in a school this week and, although it has been a wonderful, rewarding experience, I am absolutely knackered, dying for a lie-in! However, I'm in uni tomorrow so I won't exactly get one.. Anyone want to do my course for me haha?

So yesterday I finally caved into the yearly ritual of Christmas shopping; I didn't actually buy anything for anyone, but got some ideas. It was more my parents buying things for me, which was rather pleasant to be honest. Plus it gave me an opportunity to see what's in the shops (lately I've been banning myself from even entering clothes shops cause I really can't trust myself haha). There are some really interesting trends on the high street at the moment; in Topshop I noticed a lot of cute structured dresses, and I may invest in one as they are such a classic item to have. I also think velvet is going to be huge over the winter, which I am ecstatic about because I do love a bit of velvet. Here are some of my favourites

So today I went to a beautiful place in Sherwood (Yes, where Robin Hood is from haha) called Newstead Abbey. It is an abbey that was ruined during the disillusion of the monasteries, but it still looks really impressive and there are some really cool gardens. It was a bit chilly so I wore my faux fur coat (and some really inappropriate shoes as always). Check out the pictures (:

Autumn leaves..

Just a quick post to share some pictures I took at the weekend. I'm so busy at the moment and I will be working in a school all next week so I feel like I'm on a treadmill. Hopefully, when I finish for Christmas in December I will get some time to do some fashion posts.

Who are we to tell ourselves that we're misunderstood..

Hello lovelies! I have been very busy recently and I cannot believe I've actually found time to do a post! I am just getting to grips with the workload of my course, and it's bloody hard! I'm working on two essays at the moment; even though they're not due in for quite some time I am stressing.

So, as you can guess, I've not had much time to think about my blog. On top of that, I'm really lacking inspiration these days. I think it's just because it's that dreary time of year in-between the summer and Christmas. Don't get me wrong, I do love Autumn and Winter; there's so much going on; the fair, halloween, bonfire night etc.. and the prospect of snow gets me very excited. I just feel that there is little room for innovation in fashion during these cold months because the main purpose of your clothes is to keep you warm. Despite saying this, I have seen some of the cutest jumpers and wooly leggings about in the shops! However, now that I am a student I have only been able to afford one little shopping  spree. I got a beautiful, slouchy jumper from Primark yesterday, and seriously, I don't think I've taken it off since! I accidently picked up a size 20 which is wayyyy too big, but I kinda like how oversized it is (in other words there is more material to keep me warm haha). Anyway, have a gander (:

Seasons come and go..

Is it really October 1st? The weather in England at the moment certainly doesn't seem to agree with that statement. I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by! I guess for most people my age it's been a busy year; taking their A-levels, moving out, starting uni and a new life. I think I'm starting to get used to living away from home, and surprisingly, I have not blown my student loan on clothes...yet!

The wardrobe in my room is way too small. I went home this weekend and collected some clothes that I wanted for uni. Where am I going to put them? I've already had to buy storage boxes to put my overflow of blouses into!!! I never knew I had this much stuff!! Anyway, when I went back to my hometown I finally managed to get some photos done (after much frustration). The outfit in these photos is not very seasonal but the weather has been sooo good that I had to throw on something summery or else I would seriously over heat! However, I'm trying to be more experimental with my posts and use a interesting range of props.

This love will be your downfall..

Okay I know I said I wouldn't be doing another post until I had settled in at uni, but I really love this blog and I couldn't put it aside. Also; while I was packing all my clothes for moving out I started coming up with some lovely outfit ideas.

I have packed way too many things for uni; I said to myself I was only going to take clothes according to season, but as I was going through my wardrobe I was convincing myself that 'yes, I will need to take a tartan cape with me' haha! Currently, I have two suitcases filled to the brim with clothing, and I still have things I need (I say need but I'm probably being melodramatic) to put in! With all my stuff being squashed in these suitcases, I have been living in electric blue jeans and an adorable striped jumper. My generous mother bought me these the other day as I claimed I 'needed' (yes that word again) more clothes. The jeans are rather bright for a girl myself who is usually found wearing cream, chiffon dresses and blouses, but with starting uni, getting a fresh start, I feel like my style should be developing too. Have a gander at the pictures anyway..

You had a fun summer, but it's suddenly colder..

This is probably one of the last posts I will do before I'm off to uni. Of course I will try my best to keep this blog going while I'm there, but I will have a lot of settling in and organizing to do before I can concentrate on my hobbies. It's a very strange feeling, leaving behind all your bonds and ties to a certain place, but at the same time the prospect of living on my own and meeting new people is extremely exciting. The title of this blog post is taken from the song Family Friend by the Vaccines. The lyrics totally describe how I'm feeling at the moment; daunted by change. I know once I get to uni I will have the time of my life, it's just sad to leave behind what you're used to, and what you love.

At the weekend I went camping (yes, again!!). It was in celebration of my aunts birthday, so we had a lovely time staggering from pub to pub in a little town called Masham. If you ever get a chance, I strongly recommend you give it a visit because it is beautifully quaint, and the people are so welcoming. Masham is a place close to my heart as I've been there many times for family gatherings. This is another thing that I am finding quite disheartening, that I won't be seeing as much of my family, as I am moving on with my life. Don't get me wrong, that's great. I have been itching for independence, it's just hard to get my head around that my life is taking a new, thrilling turn.

Anyway, enough of that hah! I have been thinking (probably too much, and too far in advance) about autumn looks. My inspiration for this look was, strangely enough, Liam Gallagher! I was listening to Oasis on my Ipod. These photos were taken this weekend while I was camping. I wasn't even planning on getting any photos done, but I just woke up one morning with one of the greatest outfit ideas.

These are a few of my favourite things..

Bonjour, I am back from roughing it at Leeds festival!! Bloody hell that was effort, brilliant but it drained me! Four days of drinking and trudging though mud to see bands took up a lot of energy. I was so happy I got to see Muse and Ed Sheeran (from a distance, however, as he was very popular). I went to Leeds with the idea that this would be a great opportunity to wear some cool outfits, but by the second day, when it rained persistently, I started to care less about my appearance. I think that's the way it has to be at festivals; there's no way you're going to look you're best so you may as well not give a fuck! Although, I did have a good array of headbands to detract from my the terrible state of my hair!! I think headbands are a must!! Anyway, next year I don't think I'll go for four days; it's just too taxing for a softie like myself.

I know we're not even into September yet, but walking into Topshop yesterday got me thinking about Autumn looks. At Leeds I noticed a lot of girls were wearing (faux hopefully?) fur coats and it seriously made me miss mine, so I dug it out for this latest outfit post. I really, really love maxi skirts at the moment, and as many of you may already know, I am crazy about chiffon. So this skirt I got from American Apparel is just perfect for me. Also, I obtained this amazingly cute fur hat from Topshop the other day, and I feel like a little Russian doll in it. Let me know what you think (:
